'Report EC Tax Review’s Twentieth Anniversary Seminar 31 May 2012 ‘Fiscal Autonomy in a Changing EU'

Against the backdrop of the stormy waters of EU politics, a seminar was organized in the Port City of Rotterdam on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of EC Tax Review. Chairman of the editorial board Professor Henk van Arendonk welcomed the international audience to this pre-event to the 2012 Congress of the EATLP, hosted by the Erasmus University Rotterdam 1–2 June 2012. On 31 May 2012, EC Tax Review organized a seminar on ‘Fiscal Autonomy in a Changing EU’ as a pre-event to the 2012 EATLP Congress in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. This report summarizes the proceedings of the conference. Speakers to the Conference were Heinz Zourek (Director-General for Taxation and Customs Union of the European Commission), Kai A. Konrad (Max Planck Institute for Tax Law and Public Finance), Jaap de Zwaan (Erasmus University Rotterdam), Krister Andersson (Lund University, Chairman of the Tax Policy Group BusinessEurope), Frans Vanistendael (Director European Tax College and Academic Chairman of the IBFD) and Mrs Korrie Louwes (Vice-mayor of Rotterdam).
